Agreements
Parenting
Agreements are made between parents living apart who
agree to act jointly in the best interests of their
children, by consulting with one another concerning the
needs of the children and their own needs as co-parents.
Areas covered in the agreements often include sports and
activates, medical and education decisions, problem
solving and disciple.
A
written parenting agreement or parenting plan is helpful
in setting the stage for a successful post-divorce
relationship. Just the process of creating an agreement
allows you and your future ex-spouse to discuss most or
all of the issues that will come up during your
children's lives. In addition, if, after you create and
sign an agreement, the other parent continuously breaks
the agreement, you will have proof that he or she
originally agreed to the agreement in writing.
Like Separation
Agreements, Parenting Agreements give each parent
the flexibility to choose what will work best for their
particular situation. Parenting agreements are
private and created out of court.
